If the first Silent Hill wasn't scary enough for you the first time around "Silent Hill Revelation" is a must see.In the film Adelaide Clemens played a character named Heather also known as Alessa an evil demon child. The budget didn't seem any smaller, and I thought the graphics were as good as the original, especially when the woman turns into a mannequin. If you didn't like the first one, or this one, don't see the next one and then complain about it. It bridges some gaps of the game. ACTING: not the average award-winning feats but the kind we silent hill lovers love. my dream as a SH lover - to be able to make PH an ally was finally fulfilled.Flashbacks from the game and the previous film was given a fair chance. The protagonist and the antagonist are both the same in the film as they are in the third game, and Heather's outfit will make any Silent Hill gamer immediately recognize this. If you love Silent Hill you will love this film, if your not a fan of the games then you will probably think its a jumpy film you didn't understand much of. It was EXACTLY the same as the first one with a bit of a different storyline. My review won't matter to many of you, but for anyone who remembers, I've been talking about Silent Hill on the IMDb for 8 years since pre-production was announced in 2004 on the first film. The beginning scene where Robbie looked at Heather..

Some of the best lines of the film are voiced by Alessa, reminding us of parts of the first film with remnants of that deranged little girl still inside her.Every film has shortcomings and Silent Hill Revelations has fell victim to this fact, as has every other film in history; you can't please everyone, after all nothing is perfect. IF you are a person who loves horror films such as I do you would have to make it number one on your list for things to do. I had the highest hopes that Gans would deliver and he fell just sort of doing so. It seamlessly inserts itself into a canon of horror film genres the likes of Hellraiser and Martrys. I'm a real fan of the horror genre. Like in the film the nurses began to move, seems like dancing, when they hear movement. oh, and Rose was not just an extra. The monsters added a presence to the film that is portrayed through the horrors and screams of the characters, they were very well done. So I'm automatically going to somewhat like the film, just throwing it out there. and was right when she was rescued from the gripping hands of the mad prisoners..

Like in the film the nurses began to move, seems like dancing, when they hear movement. and addition of the twists like heather's boyfriend from the order was not bad. Even the first film's Miners (which I felt were simply revolting) worked well with some thoughtful explanations of their presence. I'm not a fan of the video game but i loved the film. feels like when he was pointing at the peeping tom Henry. The ominous soundtrack makes its return, and it is so very welcomed; such a perfect, creepy sound that brings the film to life. people criticized actors/acting when they aren't looking forward to how the "plot" was executed. the script is cheesy and the story develops in and incredible amount of short time, but it had what I wished for, as a DEVOTED fan of Silent Hill franchise, I saw a LOT of references to the game and other Silent Hill titles, as a fan of the first film, it's a coherent sequel, maybe the story is obviously not the most brilliant, but come on! We are here to watch a 3D ride through hell aren't we? And that's just what we got, I felt as if I was high the entire film! (actually I wasn't) the CGI and 3D are AMAZING, really, the visuals, as the first film, are the best part, disturbing images and believe me, much bloodier that the first one... arrrrrrrrrrrrgg!!! 2. And one more hindrance is the jump scares, they do not interrupt or ruin the viewing experience in any way, the only problem seems to be that a Silent Hill film should scare you by disturbing your moral fibre with brutality and sadism, not by jumping out at you.

After a few friends of mine left the theater for about 15 minutes, they missed almost 50% of the action. Of course their are some plot holes that make you wonder if the writer was writing a script or a jumbled mess on paper but the major selling point for this film is obviously for the fan service and this film really delivers. The solution was simply lessening the frequency of these participants and onlookers appearances to make them feel distant and foreboding. The beautiful thing about this film is that it recognizes the shortcomings and provides explanation with in the plot, the facts are in the dialogue and recognized by the characters, being dealt with accordingly. The 3-D was a part of the success but the film was a very excellent film and I give it 10 stars. I just feel like the film being in 3-D was just an amazing idea for the director and creator, it brought out more that any 2-D film could. My experience at the film theater was so awesome because of this horrifying film. The critics bash this film, yet it has a very solid rating from the audience; with IMDb currently sitting at 7.2/10, which is an accomplishment among films. It was EXACTLY the same as the first one with a bit of a different storyline. I love Robbie the Rabbit.. The sets were well done, and much better than the first film in which most of the first film was shot on a sound stage with CGI.

I don't understand all the bad reviews. It bridges some gaps of the game. my dream as a SH lover - to be able to make PH an ally was finally fulfilled.Flashbacks from the game and the previous film was given a fair chance. I had the highest hopes that Gans would deliver and he fell just sort of doing so. It was a tough task to tie the end of the first film into the beginning of this film while keeping the story of the third game in-tact. Another excellent thing about this film is that it avoids the stereotypical "this film is 3D" moments, not tailoring the film to be 3D, but rather just having the 3D exist naturally.Overall, this film is fantastic. a lot of scenes, characters and monsters had a lot of potential but the film was too short to developBut I enjoyed it, a lot, was a cool acid like trip on the theater, really, not the best story, but actually felt like the 3D ride through hell they promised since the beginning ;)Funny? Yes :) Scary? For Silent Hill standards no, for general audience yes :) Disturbing? As the first one... The budget didn't seem any smaller, and I thought the graphics were as good as the original, especially when the woman turns into a mannequin. If you didn't like the first one, or this one, don't see the next one and then complain about it. Heather walking on the street to the school bus -- like the street when you look at the window on SH4. The first Silent Hill film was pretty good, although it strayed far away from the video game story at times and felt a little like a TV film.

The monsters were paramount to the film; they were creepy, ominous, and just messed up. Although it was a good story; complex but somehow easily to comprehend it was mostly the beauty of the imagery that coughed my eye. The 3-D was a part of the success but the film was a very excellent film and I give it 10 stars. (i personally say it added to the mood of the game) duh.FRUSTRATIONS: 1. It is a excellent watch, and it is a excellent continuance of the first film, as well as a excellent adaptation of the third game. Before watching this film, some questions may come up like how is Chris Da Silva the same person as Harry Mason? And how is Heather Mason connected to him? You must trust that these questions and more will be answered, and those answers are believable. The beginning scene where Robbie looked at Heather.. but considering the fact that he gave Alex a ride to Shepherd's Glen makes him a frequent visitor in that area.. The emotions and the terror were real to me and the characters projected and perfected the books of scripts because the performances were amazing. Many Film techniques were used while making this film. The sets were well done, and much better than the first film in which most of the first film was shot on a sound stage with CGI.

It made the film just pop out at you and it made the action packed scenes much scarier that it could in just a normal 2-D film. In the critic's eye, this film has to overcome a lot of adversity. In the end, you will still be leaving satisfied and craving a sequel. No downpour and book of memories yet, still waiting for the PC version :( 1. Industry information at your fingertipsOver 200,000 Hollywood insidersEnhance your IMDb PageGo to IMDbPro »Own the rights? I recently went to go see the film "Silent Hill: Revelation" directed by Michael J. If you love Silent Hill you will love this film, if your not a fan of the games then you will probably think its a jumpy film you didn't understand much of. oh, and Rose was not just an extra. The essence, the terror of the game, is communicated consistently and aggressively without ever feeling anything short of entirely immersive. I was expecting Heather carrying an Uzi but it was still OK because Harry didn't die. The acting is also good, it's just that I felt that the film went so fast that we can't feel love for anyone but Heather (Adelaide Clemens has my 100% approval as Heather) the music is really good also, for the ones that are expecting to hear again a lot of tracks taken direct from the games, you will be disappointed, most of tracks are remixed themes from Silent Hill 3 & 2, but it works well...Another thing I wanted to point is the 3D, really, don't judge the film just because it's in 3D! it's amazing, the ashes falling and the otherworld shifting are just amazing coming out from screenI would just complain about the cliché 3D scenes, of blood and stuff coming out from the screen, they are lazy, but doesn't make the film sucks... I'm a real fan of the horror genre. she speaks now.Travis was lookin good back there giving hitchhikers some ride in the ending sequence. The motel they rented looks like Norman's Motel 3.

she speaks now.Travis was lookin good back there giving hitchhikers some ride in the ending sequence. After a few friends of mine left the theater for about 15 minutes, they missed almost 50% of the action. gamers don't bother.. I argued then that simply lessening the amount of background cast and extras would be the only solution to that in future sequels. Serious accolades belong to the Visual FX team and practical FX Makeup teams as well. Good? IMO yes :)& Yes, my account is brand new, not fake, and Open Road didn't pay me to write a good review of the film, I created this account just to rate this film and write about, only my opinion about it :)For me, along with Sinister, the best horror film of this Halloween season, don't miss the 3D! I honestly enjoyed this film. The sets were well done, and much better than the first film in which most of the first film was shot on a sound stage with CGI. First off, I am a major fan of the games. But a film like this i have never seen before. I have seen all of the Paranormal Activity films and hate them with a passion, but I won't complain beyond film 1.

userpic

But a film like this i have never seen before. The director is new, and it is noticeable; there are more jump scares in this film then there needs to be, which is what a new director would define as scary when really it's just cliché. As a person who is oblivious to most of the actual Silent Hill game lore, understanding this film after watching the first wasn't really hard. No automatic weapons. and it also connects the game to the film in some way. The first Silent Hill film was pretty good, although it strayed far away from the video game story at times and felt a little like a TV film. She was once again back in Silent Hill where she will relive her nightmare once more.I feel like Adelaide did an amazing job as she was the highlight of the film, she is the reason Silent Hill exist. Another thing is that it is a horror film; horror films tend to be over picked at, and judged with no mercy. 2. IF you are a person who loves horror films such as I do you would have to make it number one on your list for things to do.

So I'm automatically going to somewhat like the film, just throwing it out there. It has. I argued then that simply lessening the amount of background cast and extras would be the only solution to that in future sequels. No automatic weapons. Finally we come to the fact that it is a new director; critics will destroy these directors unless they make Oscar material films, and Silent Hill Revelation may never see an Oscar; the only way it may is with the acting performance by Adelaide Clemens, which was very notable. The acting is a major step up from the first film, as the characters were believable, compelling and interesting, and the deliverance was incredible. people criticized actors/acting when they aren't looking forward to how the "plot" was executed. It brought more than just the thrill it brought the realism out of the film. Heather walking on the street to the school bus -- like the street when you look at the window on SH4. Note, Travis said "haven't been here in a long time", does this mean that he actually take another route near silent hill after all what happened saving a little girl? or maybe this was the first time Travis got out of silent hill? hmmmn.. But a film like this i have never seen before.

It made the film just pop out at you and it made the action packed scenes much scarier that it could in just a normal 2-D film. Although it was a good story; complex but somehow easily to comprehend it was mostly the beauty of the imagery that coughed my eye. Bassett has proved me wrong. (Best Ending?)GAME and Movie Reference: Even at the very start of scene where Heather was going to SH and heard on the dialogue that the Pyramid Head was Alessa's Guardian and Executioner, i got the feeling PH will be protecting Heather since she is Alessa's daughter/half.. The ominous soundtrack makes its return, and it is so very welcomed; such a perfect, creepy sound that brings the film to life. The sets were well done, and much better than the first film in which most of the first film was shot on a sound stage with CGI. The box office results will silence the critics as they did last time around.
